If you’ve ever been to the dentist, a dental assistant has helped you. Across the United States, dental assistants enable our trips to the dentist to run smoothly by helping both patients and dentists. Which is why your Rochester dentist, Dr. Gilly Calcagno, would like to take this opportunity to recognize all the hard work of our dental assistants. In today’s blog, Dr. Calcagno discusses Dental Assistants Recognition Week and recognizes the hard work of three very special dental assistants.
DARW
From March third through the ninth, dental practices across the country will be observing Dental Assistants Recognition Week. Whether through luncheons or charity events, dentists will be honoring the many contributions that dental assistants bring to the field of dentistry. According to Carolyn Breen, the current president of the American Dental Assistants Association, or ADAA: “Dental assistants are highly valuable members of the dental team and make significant contributions to the oral health of the public. What better time to thank dental assistants for the important role they play in patient care, than by honoring them nationally during Dental Assistant Recognition Week?”
What Do Dental Assistants Do?
The job description of a dental assistant varies from office to office. Often, dental assistants keep records, handle paperwork, assist the dentist with certain procedures, address the questions and concerns of the patients, schedule appointments, and handle certain laboratory tasks. Essentially, dental assistants strive to ensure everything at a practice runs smoothly and that patients remain relaxed and happy.
A Thank You For Our Wonderful and Talented Dental Assistants
Our practice employs three very talented and hard working licensed dental assistants. We don’t know what we would do without the hard work of Samantha, Brittany, and Krysta. Everyday they raise the bar for dedication and professionalism. So, from Dr. Calcagno and the entire staff, we would like to say thanks for everything you do!
