Teeth that appear discolored can be a source of embarrassment. Once stains appear, they are difficult to remove without cosmetic treatment. What’s the best option for brighter teeth? We actually provide a number of different options for removing teeth stains and helping you achieve a brighter smile, from teeth whitening to porcelain veneers.
Teeth Whitening
While store bought whitening systems can brighten your teeth, the results don’t last as long and aren’t as dramatic as those achieved with professional systems. We offer KoR Whitening to remove discoloration. The procedure begins with an initial office treatment. Afterward, the doctor will send you home with a custom-made set of trays and a bleaching gel. Each day you will fill the trays with gel and wear them for a set amount of time. After about a week to ten days you will return to the office for a final treatment, enjoying a smile that may be brightened by multiple shades.
Porcelain Veneers
In some cases, the discoloration may be severe. Permanent teeth stains aren’t typically caused by the foods and drinks we consume, instead they may the result of medication or injury. To correct these stains we can mask them with porcelain veneers. Made from thin shells of porcelain, they are placed over the front of the teeth. They look completely natural and are designed to blend with your smile, masking an array of cosmetic issues.
Dental Bonding
For the teeth that aren’t as visible as the front facing ones, we can mask stains with dental bonding. The procedure involves applying layers of composite resin and curing the tooth with a special light. In one visit, we can address chips, gaps, or permanent stains.
