Community Events
Escape Challenge: This event takes place weekly, being held on May 11th this week. You are locked in a room and have 60 minutes to escape, free other prisoners, and make your final escape. The event takes place at 20 6th Street NW.
Tastes Like Paint: A teen art group held weekly at the Rochester Art Center (40 Civic Drive SE). Admission is free and open to all area teens. There will be painting, discussions, and a chance to meet local artists, curators, and other art professionals.
A Tour of Historical Artifacts: The Assisi Heights Spiritualty Center will be hosting a tour of historical artifacts from their 139 years of operation. Groups should preregister as seating as limited. There will also be stories from the past. The event takes place at 1001 14th Street NW on May 11th.
Bleeding Kansas: The History Center of Olmsted County will be hosting a Round Table on the Civil War on May 11th at 1195 W Circle Drive SW. The event discusses the events of “bleeding Kansas”, in which the people of the state fought over slavery in 1859, prior to the Civil War.
Painting for Girl Scouts: This event is a fundraiser for the Girl Scouts, so they can attend Camp Edith Mayo. It will be a fun night of painting, taking place on May 11th at the Mayo Business Accelerator (221 1st Avenue SW).
