What is CEREC?
CEREC stands for Ceramic Reconstruction. Instead of having crowns fabricated in a dental laboratory, Dr. Calcagno mills your crowns in-office from CEREC blocks. Made from high-quality ceramics, CEREC blocks were tested for durability and longevity for over 20 years. Unlike metal dental work, CEREC is a biocompatible restoration.
Are CEREC crowns natural-looking?
Because high quality ceramics are used to mill CEREC crowns, these restorations mimic the appearance of natural teeth. These crowns provide beautiful, all-white restorations. CEREC crowns beautifully blend in with surrounding teeth.
Will CEREC crowns fit properly?
Dr. Calcagno uses innovative CAD/CAM technology to take precise digital images of your teeth. These three dimensional images are uploaded to a computer where the proper size of your restoration is calculated. After this process, your crown will be milled conveniently at our office.
What some advantages of CEREC crowns?
CEREC crowns are considered a more conservative restoration because they require less tooth preparation than traditional restorative methods.
