The Ag Days are a time to celebrate all that agriculture offers us. This year, the Ag Days in Spring Valley will be held from August 12-17, and will include a number of shows, celebrations, and family-fun activities, such as the annual Ag Days run. Starting at 8:00 am on Saturday, August 16, this year’s Ag Days run will take you along the Spring Valley trail, beginning at Willow Park. As a fun way to get in shape and enjoy the beauty of nature, the run will also include a smaller walk/run for children. You can register for both events on the Chamber of Commerce website, or by picking up the appropriate forms at City Hall or at the Spring Valley Tribune office.
Fitness and Fun for Everyone
Ag Days 6k for Adults
Those who have participated in the Ag Days 5K run in the past may be surprised to learn that, this year, the run will be a 6k trek along the Spring Valley trail. A bus will take participants to the end of the trail, by the camper parking area, from which they’ll walk, jog, or run back into Spring Valley. Also different this year: the path now runs underneath Highway 16, and is paved. Entry for the race is $20 per person.
Little Huskers 1k for Kids
To help children join in the fun without having to traverse the entire six kilometers, the Spring Valley Area Community Foundation is also sponsoring the Little Huskers 1k run on the trail around the outside edge of Willow Park. The kids’ run begins at 9:30 am, and is free of charge for children ages 2-12.
