Whitewater State Park
Whitewater State Park is a go-to destination for parents looking to introduce their children to the natural wonders of our beautiful state, without having to get too far from the comforts of home. Featuring a sanded swimming beach, “easy” rated hiking trails, a modern group center, visitor’s center, and restrooms (with showers, if you decide to stay the night). Entrance permits are only $7 and the park is very close to St. Charles, if you need to grab some supplies on the way in.
Niagara Cave
Get ready to experience one of the most interesting natural features our state has to offer. It takes a little less than an hour to get to Niagara Cave from Rochester, and the trip is well worth it! During the hour-long guided cave tour, you’ll see a breath-taking underground waterfall, rock formations like stalagmites and stalactites of all shapes and sizes, fossils, and a functioning subterranean wedding chapel.
