We know that issues with your smile’s appearance aren’t just limited to teeth stains. We also understand how important a beautiful smile can be. We have an array of treatment options designed to help fix common cosmetic issues, changing your smile for the better. In fact, oftentimes repairing the cosmetic problems also aid in improving overall oral health.
Common Cosmetic Smile Issues
- Stained teeth: There are actually two different types of teeth stain. The most common forms on the surface and is known as extrinsic. We can remove this with teeth whitening. The second forms below the enamel, known as intrinsic discoloration. If we can’t remove this with teeth whitening, then we mask it with either veneers or dental bonding.
- Chipped/fractured teeth: If a tooth is damaged we can mask it a veneer or repair the tooth with a lifelike dental crown or dental bonding. Not only is a damaged tooth unattractive, it can also expose sensitive tissue to harmful bacteria, making the onset of decay or infection more likely. We recommend repairing the tooth as soon as possible.
- Misshapen teeth: If a tooth is malformed (naturally misshapen) we have multiple procedures to address it. Dental contouring can remove overly sharp points on the teeth, as well as pits or grooves in the tooth surface. We can also reshape the tooth with the application of porcelain veneers.
- Uneven teeth: If you have misalignment we have two options for correcting your uneven smile. Six month smiles address minor misalignment with clear brackets and tooth-colored arch wires in about three to six months. Clear Aligner Systems employs a series of clear plastic aligners to reposition the teeth in about a year. If you have any questions about how we fix cosmetic problems, then contact our office today.
