When you develop tooth decay or other issues with the health and structure of your tooth, you need a restoration. We offer a number of lifelike and durable restorations designed to return a tooth to optimal health and function, such as a crown or a filling. A restoration can help prevent serious complications. Do you need a crown or a filling to restore your smile?
Signs of Trouble
We recommend a restoration whenever a tooth becomes chipped or cracked. In addition, if you begin to experience tooth sensitivity or a persistent toothache, this could be a sign of cavity. Without treatment, a cavity could lead to the onset of an infection or a dental abscess. Whenever you notice damage to your teeth or persistent discomfort, contact your dentist. Addressing a potential problem in the early stages can help safeguard your smile against serious complications.
Dental Crown
A crown fits over the visible portion of the tooth. Using CEREC technology, we can actually create and place on in a single visit. This option addresses more serious damage and infections. After preparing the tooth, we take detailed impressions using an intraoral camera. We then using the information gathered to create a 3D computer model, which is uploaded into a computer and used by the CEREC machine to mill the restoration. In the same visit, we can then place the restoration.
Dental Filling
For most cases of decay, we can recommend a filling. We can shade the metal-free composite resin and place it onto the tooth. We can then cure the material under a light. The restoration looks natural and protects the tooth from infection. Placing one only takes a single visit. If you have any questions about our fillings or crowns, then contact our office today.
