How Do I Get Started?
First, talk to your dentist. Dr. Calcagno will examine your smile to see if this is the best option for you. We’ve treated patients with mild and severe misalignment, including children, teens, and adults. If we decide you’re a candidate, then we will take detailed impressions, photographs, and x-rays of your smile. At an Clear Aligner Systems lab, experts will use these materials to create your aligners. We will then send you home with a set to begin your treatment.
What Does My Day with Clear Aligner Systems Look Like?
Each day you will wear them for between 20 and 23 hours. You will only remove them when brushing and flossing your teeth and during meals. Approximately every two weeks, the doctor will upgrade you to a new set as your teeth are slowly and gently repositioned.
How Long Does Treatment Last?
That depends on a number of different factors, including age and the severity of misalignment. For adults, the average treatment takes about a year. However, teens may need up to 18 months to see optimal results.
