During your same-day appointment, the area will be examined. Using an intraoral camera, your dentist will be able to take an impression of your smile and get precise measurements for the crown to be created. Instead of being sent to a lab, these measurements will be sent to the CEREC machine. The restoration piece will be crafted in our office in just a few hours. Then, it will be bonded to the damaged tooth. Once the crown is bonded, you can enjoy the benefits of a repaired tooth. You will need to wait up to 24 hours to chew food to ensure that the piece stays in place. Follow your usual oral hygiene routine twice a day. You may notice that it feels different to brush or floss for a few days following your appointment, but this is normal.
